Coincidentally, in my online Philosophy class, we’re on the chapter called “The Problem of Evil and the Existence of God.”

Last week’s discussion board question:

If you believe in God, what evidence would convince you to NOT believe in God?  What does your answer say about your belief in God?

If you do NOT believe in God, what evidence would it take to convince you that God exists?

If you are an agnostic, what evidence would convince you 1) to believe in God and 2) to not believe in God?

It actually took me a while to come up with an answer because I first had to define and label myself to fit into one of these categories.

I don’t think about religion very often and I’m not spiritual at all.  I think of myself as a Humanist.

But, I guess I would also consider myself an agnostic atheist.  I say this because although I do not believe God exists, I know that one cannot “prove a negative” and I also accept and hold myself open that there is still a possibility that a god exists (or multiple ones do).

Bill Maher was on The Daily Show last night.

…I’m not an atheist because I find atheism to be a mirror of the certainty of religion and I don’t like certainty of the next world we can’t know… what I say is “I don’t know.”

I guess I shrug my shoulders and say, “I don’t think so, but I can’t say for sure, either.”

Whether or not the God(s) that may exist is the God(s) (humans) created for ourselves is a different issue: If I believed that a God(s) existed, I believe it would not be a personal God(s).

For those of us without a cool iPhone app, there’s Dial A Human.

Change Me is a worldwide project that brings people together to share ideas through powerful imagery.  Each participant submits an image along with a short commentary explaining why that image has special meaning to them. The goal is to find an image that will make an impact on people viewing it, an image that might Change Me in some way.

It would be a big disappointment if it didn’t come with most of the cool new features the 50D will have. If for some reason it were a release like the 40D was to the 30D, I’d wait another round before upgrading (for the full frame).

We’ll see.

Index Chopping Board

This is (some of) the funniest shit ever.

It reminds me of one of my “roommates from hell”—the reason why I refuse in the future to have a female roommate (if at all possible to avoid).  Too bad I didn’t save the ones we did to each other.

Holy crap, I finally got around to finding out what “Chacha” was.  Haven’t tried it yet though.  (But it’d be pretty damn cool to be paid to be a guide.)

I tend to always get The Far Side calendars each year, but for 2009, I want one of these.

I haven’t been following football this season.  I guess I’ve been too busy with other things.

I actually considered sporting my Chargers jersey this weekend, but then I heard this on the news last night!

I’ll still sport it (sometime this season).  I just hope they can still make it without him.
