If there is one holiday a year that holds more personal “significance” than others, I would have to say it would be New Year’s.

I just like the feeling of starting over or starting fresh.  Yeah, I know I could “start” anything at anytime and I don’t necessarily have to wait until a certain date and time.  But, it’s at this time of year that the general mood and consensus is that of change and personal improvement (and usually just more positive than Thanksgiving or Christmas, since people tend to be so stressed).  I usually piggy-back on that feeling and ride out the momentum.

With the exception of maybe one or two, the last several years, I have tended to make a dozen resolutions hoping that at least one or two of them stick (which for the most part, they do).  Believe me, I’m already scheming a few and look forward to crossing off one or two things off my to-do list!
