California Prop 4

I received my California General Election Official Voter Information Guide a week or so ago. I really haven’t had the chance to really read through all of them and decide on which way I was going to vote.

I shouldn’t be surprised that Prop 4 was on the ballot again and again.  Although, the spin on this one is different than its predecessors.

The only difference from what I was able to tell between Prop 4 and its previous versions was that the California constitution would not be amended to redefine an abortion as

“…the use of any means to terminate the pregnancy of an unemancipated minor female known to be pregnant with the knowledge that the termination with those means will, with reasonable likelihood, cause the death of the unborn child, a child conceived but not yet born.”

(The italics were added as emphasis.)

I must give credit to the lawyers who wrote the proposition this time around by not including that part, and! even added “‘Abortion’ shall not include the use of any contraceptive drug or device.”

But, that is all I give the writers and supporters of this Proposition credit for.

I still stand by my previous opinions about it and will not vote for it.
