Of the many things I wanted to do today, playing the clarinet was not one of them. But there it was on my shelf—the old clarinet my co-worker gave to me because her daughter played it once 10 years ago and decided she didn’t like it, almost as if it were lonely.
It felt really familiar.
I started running through some scales, but unfortunately, there is something seriously wrong with the bottom half (right hand) and although I can get it to play G/A/B below middle C, I can’t get it to play much else, especially with any of the side or register keys.
Total bummer.
Maybe I’ll get around to bringing it into the music store for a quote on getting it fixed. We’ll see.
